Abortion is not immoral
It’s completely normal to feel ungrounded in your spirituality after the decision to have an abortion. You may begin to question whether you have done the right thing. You may have people in your life who don’t support your choices, or you may just fear the idea that you’ve ‘gone against’ a religion that means a lot to you. Well, you’re absolutely not alone. There are ways you can be at peace with your decision to have an abortion and your spiritual identity at the same time. Feeling supported can be a lifesaver.
If you or someone you know is struggling or feeling lost, I’ve found resources that may help and highly encourage you to seek out someone you can talk to. See below for some religious groups that support the essential right to abortion.
For counseling
Faith Aloud works with clergy of diverse backgrounds as a program to offer you non-judgemental, compassionate religious support. Their Toll-free Clergy Counseling Line will connect you with trained counselors and clergy who are happy to talk with you about your reproductive experience. The org is non-biased about abortions.
If you are looking for a judgment-free space, please call our clergy counseling line today at 1-888-717-5010. Our clergy volunteers are here and ready to listen.

For feeling supported
Sometimes knowing that there are people out there defending you can make you feel less alone. There are plenty of religious groups that are pro-choice and even advocate for abortion rights. Take SACReD and Catholics for Choice, two organizations that value abortion as healthcare.
SACReD is committed to empowering congregations to become communities that support the fulfillment of reproductive moral agency.
Catholics for Choice is a nonprofit organization that lifts up the voices of the majority of Catholics who believe in reproductive freedom.
Abortion access is a moral and social good.
