Hello, I’m Illeana, and I study public relations at the University of Oregon. My positive experiences within the strategic communication field have led to a passion for PR. I seek out opportunities to develop genuine, transparent relationships with clients. I use my talent in writing and communications to drive critical messages that move brands in the right direction.
I have experience in social media management, media relations, and internal communications. My first PR experience was with my University’s student-run television network DuckTV. I had fun learning how to initiate partnerships with local business managers in this role. I also got to plan and design social media content, which was a great introduction to social media management.
During my internship at Glodow Nead Communications, I helped secure broadcast media coverage for a client, Napa Valley Wine Train. I also developed a knack for event planning in that position, initiating relationships with San Francisco’s top hotel concierges and connecting them with clients in the restaurant industry.
I also interned with As You Like It, Eugene’s eco-conscious, body-positive adult store. In this position, my goal was to send helpful messages to As You Like It’s key stakeholder communities through social media. I learned a lot about strategic messaging, social media strategy, and marketing.
